Alanna Moonan is a pianist located in central New York. She grew up loving a wide variety of music, coming from a large musical family, and has studied classical piano for 16 years. She has recently graduated summa cum laude from Syracuse University’s Setnor School of Music with a Bachelor’s degree in piano performance, studying under Professor Ida Tili-Trebicka. Alanna has received multiple awards to date, including the NYS Piano Teacher’s Guild Gold Cup in 2017, SU’s Walter Westafer Award in 2024, and the Evalina Vernon Honsinger and Norma Chapin Honsinger Prize in 2025.

Over the past several years she has been actively collaborating with soloists, composers, and small ensembles, as well as teaching piano. Her colleagues have often praised her ease of technique, poised stage presence, and “poetic” playing.

Alanna has always had a deep connection with music and is passionate about sharing it with others; as a gift to an audience, as knowledge and inspiration for students, or as the joy of creating music together.
